GoTo eQuote

GoTo offers products that support remote work and assist customers and colleagues with problem-solving. Our team is preparing to launch the eQuote feature, designed to streamline payment processing for customers. My responsibility involved analyzing the business request, comprehending and refining the specifications, and creating mockups for developers to implement the feature. Additionally, I developed an interactive prototype for stakeholders to review and ensure alignment with their expectations before starting development, thereby optimizing development time and costs.

Situation: following a significant rebranding effort at GoTo, a new project emerged to develop a modern business-to-business (B2B) invoice platform. The goal was to create a streamlined payment flow that would be compatible across all platforms and integrated seamlessly with all GoTo products. This project was crucial in aligning with the company's refreshed branding and enhancing its customer experience through a unified payment system.

Task: the task assigned was to design a comprehensive payment flow that would cater to all platforms and be adaptable for implementation across GoTo's diverse range of products. The emphasis was on creating a user-friendly, efficient payment process that reflected the modernization of the brand. To expedite the design process and ensure optimal outcomes, certain traditional design steps were skipped in favor of rapid iteration based on immediate feedback.

Action: to address the task efficiently, I leveraged GoTo's mature design system as a foundation for the payment platform design. By building upon established design principles and components, I could swiftly iterate on the payment flow design while ensuring consistency across different products. In collaboration with stakeholders and users, I gathered feedback at key stages of the design process, allowing for quick adjustments and refinements. By prioritizing speed and responsiveness to feedback, I optimized the design process, aiming to deliver the most effective and user-centric payment flow solution within the specified timeframe.

Result: the approach of utilizing the mature design system, rapid iteration based on immediate feedback, and optimization of the design process resulted in the successful creation of a comprehensive payment flow for GoTo's B2B platform. The payment flow design was adaptable to various platforms and seamlessly integrated with all GoTo products, providing a cohesive user experience. By streamlining the design process and focusing on efficiency, the project achieved its goal of delivering a modern, user-friendly payment system that aligned with the company's rebranding efforts. The outcome was a well-designed payment flow that not only met the technical requirements but also resonated with the refreshed brand identity and enhanced customer satisfaction across all GoTo products.

Initiation

Formerly known as LogMeIn, GoTo is a Budapest-based multinational company currently undergoing a design unification process. While most of our users continue to utilize the 'old' admin interface, our team is focusing on rebranding the new admin interface. In order to ensure a seamless experience for our users, I have developed a straightforward login/registration screen.

Upon logging in, the user may encounter a scenario where no eQuotes are present, or they may have access to a view displaying all available eQuotes. There are various tabs provided for filtering based on availability or obtaining a general overview.

Newly registered users must input all their billing details shortly after registration. For existing users, they have the option to review or modify their information. The same process applies to shipping addresses.

If users have stored shipping addresses in their account, they can choose, review, and edit them as necessary. Additionally, the design is ready to accommodate additional shipping addresses in future releases, where products will be associated accordingly.

Users have various payment options available, including credit card payment and wire transfer. If users initially select wire transfer as the payment method, they can easily switch back to using a credit card for the transaction.

After confirming their selections, users have the chance to review all the details of their purchase before finalizing the transaction. This allows users to double-check and make any necessary adjustments before completing their purchase.

Regardless of whether the payment is successful or unsuccessful, we offer feedback to users and provide relevant calls to action (CTAs) to guide them through the next steps. This ensures that users are informed of the outcome of their payment attempt and offers them clear directions for what to do next.
